[18 Dec 2008|04:05pm]
So last night i went to the rowing club, despite having achey muscles after 2 days of circuit training hoping to get a row in.

Instead as the river was unsuitable i had to catch up with everyone else and do my 5k ergo test so i have a time to write in a book. wasnt too happy about this, as i wanted to be able to do my best and all and get a nice time!

so... i started off and worked throuhg the aches which eventually eased off and kept going. Ended up with what i thought was a passable time and i was exhausted so put my best effort in!

Turns out i only have the best damn time in my squad *hurray* and do in fact row like an italian!

so attempt 1 : 5000m ; 21:28:9

next time im going to try for 21
Strange pudding race thing on saturday morning which should be fun, even if it is only my second time rowing in a 'rowing' boat rather than sculling.

All i need now is a nice room to rent somewhere.....

p.s Earache Chrimbo party tonight anyone?

well yesterday a very strange and bizare thing happened to me,

I WON THE DAMNED RACE!!!!

so yeah, second race, 4000m, a few corners, 3 bridges and a nice river to row down, and i won. well with the help of my rowing buddy, as i was rowing a doubles race. so yeaaaaah, i have a trophy and everything, and i felt really really good about it, never won anything before like this.

so despite yesterday beeing very victorious on my part it was also a very very fun day, despite teh fact i was still a bit ill from before. *rowing and hunger not a very good mix when you cant eat much*, the morning was spent watching other races, doing my race, watching the very hilarious additional race of the father/son sprint which was amazing, as most of the fathers had never rowed before. i plan on entering my unsuspecting dad into that race for the next time if im still about. so after all the races had finished there was a long presentation, and in true sardinian style a very big party for afterwards, involving MASS amounts of food, wine, beer and cakes. Lots of fun was had throughout the afternoon and early evening, but then i retired home for a couple of hours for a well earned shower and a sit down and went out again with dad to meet the rest of the rowing club, the english team for more drinking in the bar, that turned into carnage, lots of glasses were broken and the italians cant keep up with the english drinking pace, it was hilarious. then at 12, the english lot found out it was my birthday so i was then thrown into the air 22 times, which despite being fun, wasnt so much after a full days worth of drinking wine. i also found out that a few of the guys from my rowing club speak a bit of english. BASTARDS, so instead of finding it hilarious when i cant understand something and looking at me blankly they could have helped a bit, oh well nevermind.

On other news as i dont update this thing, i shall be back in the uk on thursday night, those living in london, do come out on thursday night for drinks and what not with me and Doug, and the rest of you, ill be in nottingham for the rest of the weekend. Assault on the friday, White Heart and City on the saturday. Drinking of Cider is a must as i do miss it so.

so yes, have got to go get ready now as im going out for a birthday meal with ma and pa and a couple of friends, so toodles all, until next weekened :D

So yesterday i went for an adventure in the snow and ice. And yes believe it or not i am still in Sardinia, that little island in the meditteranian. It is bloody freezing over here at the moment (well not quite as much as it is in the uk but im used to warmer climates at the moment) Couldnt believe it, got up in the morning and you could see snow on the hilltops. and there was little bits of snow on the roads and places. I live kinda near the sea too so it is very very strange. PLus the other night i witnessed the loudest, brightest thunder storm i have ever done in my short existance in this world. It was amazing, truly spectacular, despite the fact it cut off all of our electrics and caused endless amounts of problems the next day.
Although i do have to say i am very proud of myself as i managed to coordinate the builders at the house along with the emergency electrician call out dude, all in italian whilst trying to reassure my mother that all was going to work out fine.
So anyway, back onto the snow, my adventure yesterday was most fun, i was picked up in an old landrover the same age as me, and we drove up into the hills as far as we could before it got stuck on the ice, then turned it around and found this rather dodgy cabin bar in a wood with very strange locals, and had a lovely warm cup of tea spiced up with some aqua-vita. YUMMY!

on a separate note, i was hoping to come back to the uk for new years, but the bastards at Ryanair are preventing that from happening, so i wont be back in the uk till 17th or 18th Jan, just in time for my birthday, so i dont know if anyone fancies doing anything or has any ideas of what i can do for it or something. There is a possibility of house party at my old house up north, so not sure if you lot would be up for coming up to sunny saddleworth or anything. anyhoo its not for a while yet, so let me know what ya think.

Ciao for now,
toodles

So here is another post for you all, mainly ramblings about the race last week.
So what happened...? i hear you all think!

well, i had to meet everyone at 6:30am *i hate mornings* so everyone just thought it was funny i was in a daze and kept asking me if i was scared about my first race and grinning in that 'i know something you don't' expression. The inner Charlie wanted to yell things at them and tell them to shut up as i was still half asleep but i managed to keep my cool and not yell and just shrug and say i was slightly anxious about said race. Truth was i was still terrified about the thought of the impending doom that was about to come about.

Anyhoo, after a 2hr drive we arrived in Cagliary and once the sun had risen, it turned out to be a lovely day and no rain or not a great deal of wind *and because of this i had a lot of thanks for the gods!* then we had another half an hour of aimless driving around as Luigi got lost, but i was shown a lot of buildings that cagliary had to offer, so it wasnt all that bad. Then we arrived at the port, and at that point the panick really set in, this was no small port, biggest in the med i was then told, and luigi proceeded to show me where the race was to take place. I think the look of total horror across my face gave my mood away as everyone found it rather hilarious. Someone looked at the program to to see who everyone was racing against, and then found it funny also that one of the women in my race was one of the best on the island. Wonderful i thought, bloody wonderful. So having only an hour and a half before my race was to occur i thought i would watch the other races and take notes. the club im in happens to be pretty awesome, and we won most of the races we took part in. It did start getting a bit windy too, after the first race and the water started to gain a bit more movement. *there is a reason i never did competative sports back home. They.stress.me.out, and i.hate.losing* i was then explained where to go and what to do once i got in the boat and how to get to the start line. so when my time came i would know exactly what to do. What really happened was, i was explained this in very very fast italian and only caught the gist of what was gonig to happen.

So when my time came, i got into my boat in my rather fetching one piece rowing suit *you have to see it to understand how awful it is* and turned the boat around and started to row out of the little jetty bit i was near, trying really hard not to row into an adjacent boat as the passage to the sea was rather narrow. Now i havent been rowing for a very long time, especially not in a single scull, so im not the most experienced of rowers, plus ive only ever rowed on the river, a nice calm river may i add, not the bloody sea!!!!!!! luckily i was on my own, so had to row by myself to the starting line as 2 of the other women were already there and the other one was late. lets just say i yelled a lot of obseneties towards the club, the sea, the gods, and pretty much everyone else asking why the bloody hell i got myself into this mess. It was rather confusing having to get to the starting line which was bloody miles away from the actual jetty. So anyway i got there in the end, and managed to get the nice bloke in the speed boat to talk a bit slower when explaining where to manover the boats. and then the race began. To start with my set off was shite, I didnt time it very well and my oar hit a wave and i panicked and nearly capsized, luckily i didnt and then thought fuck it to the proper way to start a race and just set off. Rowing in a straight linewasnt an issue as i had origionally feared as there are people following you all in a speed boat telling you if you are going wrong. i wasnt doing too badly either on that front. on the other hand the waves and the fact i was in the damned sea did make a bit of difference, and i found it rather difficult to row in the different conditions. Anyway i kept going because if i stopped i would panic more and humiliate myself which is not what i wanted to do. I didnt win the race *obviously* i did however lose the race, i came in last, but i didnt capsize teh boat, and there wasnt a great time at all between me and the 2 that came in before me, so i didnt lose badly or anything or looked like an oaf. So i could then calm down a bit as the race was finished, and i managed to finish it.

the next part i didnt forsee or plan. Who would have thought going from the finish line back to the tiny jetty you set off from would be difficult? Turns out it is very!! i rowed alongside 2 of the other rowers, one of whom nealy collided with a bouy. and then got lost. they were 'parked' at a different part of the port, and i couldnt remember for hte life of me which part of the port was my jetty. So after rowing around for a while trying to get my bearings, i heard my coach yell things at me, but i couldnt see him so i got even more confused. After another while i finally spotted him and then tried to follow where he was pointing, 2 3pt turns later i arrived back at the jetty, where some other tosser decided to take up all the room with his speed boat and make my life very very difficult getting out of mine. With the help of Antonio, i managed to get out of the boat and could finally chill out completely. Everyone at the club seemed really chuffed for me that i completed the race well and it was really nice to get the encouragement. also cause they all knew how freaked out about the race i had been. the only thing i knew how to say, was how i didnt fall in the sea when asked how i thought i did. This statement was hilarious apparently.

So yes, i am still alive, and didnt get swept away to sea. Bring on the next race is what i say when i will be a little better prepared and know how to handle the sea and all that. so Its all Actually good this time!!! YEY again.

the same afternoon i went along with 3 of the guys from the club to the football stadium where the Sardinian football team, Cagliary were playing against Livonia (sp?!) that day. Was a great experience to see them play live, as i really do love going to see live matches, Cagliary are however a really really terrible football team, Lazy isnt a good enough word to describe them, they really are shocking. But lots of fun was had, and it was interesting to learn a few more italian swear words, as these italians dont half love to hurl abuse at the other team. So a good day was had in all.

Yey for rowing and football!

Just noticed that lj has this thing that tells you when you last posted, turns out i last made a post over 2 months ago. Oops. oh well im never very good at this thing anyway. and i have been reading other peoples posts so im not that cut out from the world. *i hope*

so if you hadnt already guessed, im still in Sardinia. Certain things have come up which means travel to a country far far away would be possible but not advised for the current time, so i have had to postpone Oz and NZ plans for a bit. :( i dont however have any plans to return to the uk anytime soon, but am now kind of looking to go to mainland italy for a bit. Despite that i still have to drive the van from Saddleworth to here and back again at some point in January.

Anyhoo, so whats been going on in the world of Charlie!? well... Olive harvest has now finished for us. We (me and dad) have made a grand total of 100l of very very fine oil this year. And damn its tasty. unfortunately i did estimate a bit more for this year, but there is still much work to do in the Olivetta and next year we should get at least triple that amount. Also it has appeared it costs far too much to post out a bottle of oil at even 500ml so i will be bringing most of the oil back in the van with me in January and hoping to sell it in the uk around that time, as it will be easier. Pictures will appear on facebook soonish when i can find the damned memory card i stored the photos on.

I am taking part in a race on sunday too. a Grand rowing race down in Cagliary in the south of this island in the damned Bay. I was under the impression our single sculling boats were too delicate for hte sea, but teh bay is apparently ok. I AM NOW VERY VERY WORRIED ABOUT THIS. but yeah i think this is just me panicking like a crazy person as this is the first sporting event i have taken part in since sports days back in primary school (i dont count gokart racing) but despite the panic and worry i am still very chuffed to be asked to take part in this race. So the past few weeks i have been training like a crazy person and thinking mainly about rowing. So hopefully i will live to tell the tale, and not capsize my boat and not come in last or get swept away to sea. so here is hoping!!!

I also have work in a pizzeria, being taught the italian way of making pizzas in a wood oven. Its ace and im hoping to learn more Sardo culinary treats soonenough as they want to expand and have a resteraunt too. so YEY for that. Cooking is something i have been passionate about since a kid, and over here i have full control as to what my family eats, as ma isnt too fond of cooking and dad can never be arsed, so i do all the cooking. Ma is also on this special diet which i have to control too, involving lots of fish, so with the help of Rick Stein *not in person though :(*i have been making many a tasty fish dish. and i do have to say that my technique in cooking fish has vastly improved since being over here, and i have had the chance to cook lots of different varieties too. Skinning eels is next on the list though as a friend of ours is going to fish for eels next week and ive offered to cook them up.

rite so i have to go now but still loving it over here, but missing everyone soooo much. So if anyone fancies coming over, even for a couple of days (flights are soo cheap) it would be awesome. as alas i cannot come over to the uk until after the new year *sob*
so yeah, toodles for now
Ciao xcx

For those that have ever shared a room with me, one way or another might be familiar with the fact that i say/do strange things in my sleep. So the other night was a little stranger than normal nights and the morning after i woke up to find all the pictures and wall hangings in the house neatly stacked in a corner. My parents were just as confused as i was, and as it turned out i got up during the night in a crazed sleep walking expedition and took everything from the walls and stacked them up neatly. then went back to bed.

I do wonder what goes on in my head when im sleeping sometimes to make me do these things. I fear for my sanity.

On a much more sane note, i am going out to yet another Festa in Bosa tonight. It is being held in the old streets around the old castle and will involve lots of food and wine. I am looking forward to this, it should hopefully be lots of fun, as Festas in this country usually are.

so SALUTE to you all

Well i havent posted for a while so i thought i would let you all know what ive been up to as of late.

Today has been a busy day, despite rowing training i tried having a go at Windsurfing (as i won a free lesson in a bar :D)!!! Turns out the sport is quite fun but not as easy as it looks. Despite the lesson being in Italian and my italian is still far from amazing, i managed to move a little bit, but spent most of the time falling off or getting tangled in between the rope and the board. I am going to try and give it another wirl though as it is fun. Still cant wait to try the kite surfing though, even though i know ill be worse at that, but it looks much more fun and i have to wait till there is a bit more wind here and the beach is a bit quieter, end of september for that im thinking!
Rowing is still going well, had a couple of weeks off a few weeks ago, and it slowed me down a bit, been good to get back into training again. I WILL get good at this sport!!

The other week i received a text from a friend in Bosa asking me if i wanted to go camping for Ferragosta (National italian holiday mid aug) this sounded fun, so armed with a blanket and sleeping mat, change of clothes, bikini and towel i set off to the campsite. As i was still a bit miffed i missed Wacken this year i was hoping this camping trip could help out with the lack of camping this year for me. It was much fun, despite lacking in the load metal music blaring out everywhere, english and german speaking people and drinking for breakfast lunch and tea. i was there for 3 days, where hte days were spent by the sea, in this awesome bay bit with good water for swimming and snorkelling and some good rocks to climb around on. Night times were spent eating a LOT of bbqed meat and drinking lots of wine and flavoured vodka. Unfortunately everyone seems to think im an alcoholic over here as i managed to polish off a fair bit of the booze. (i had to make up for it not being wacken, and the fact we were only drinking at night, and its a holiday haha) but hey ho. its all good and i had a fab time.

My italian is coming along slowly but surely and im trying to work on my accent a little more now, so i dont sound like a northern muppet attempting to speak italian. My garden is still doing well, the aubergines arent doing as well as i would have liked, but they need better soil than we have here. my peppers are amazing, they taste sooooo good and the ones i have left are now starting to go red. Homegrown green and yellow peppers are not to be taken advantage of as they are just so good!
My scooter is amazing, a little slow going up hills, but other than that fab, hehe i love driving it around and it gives me the freedom that i need over here which i didnt have when i first got here. Im still reading lots and lots over here, getting through books like lightning... and speaking of lightening, last week we had a couple of days of the most beautiful thunder and lightening storms. they were the best i have ever seen and the rain was amazing. Back to being very hot now though.
Other things keeping me occupied are my new found job. Its only casual work, but it pays me enough for drinking and buying the occasional thing. Just working on this plot of land, uncovering a lost orchard full of orange trees and lots of other different kinds of fruit trees. Also had the job of uncovering a set of fantastic fountains that were all completely covered in soil and dirt. They are now starting to look like fountains and looking damn good. So its really fulfilling being part of uncovering it all.
The cantina is at a bit of a standstill at the mo, still waiting on quotes to get some of hte work done. All the tubes and boxes have now been cemented into the walls ready for the elelctrics to go in once the plastering has been done, and i even got a reluctant 'good job' for my cementing skills by and italian builder (women over here work in an office or school, most definately not doing anything practical or manual)

Anyhoo im pretty knackered now, so going to head off to bed, I am going back toi the Uk end of sept till the second week in October so will be at the OCtober damage, so hope most of you can make it, as i would love to see you all :D especially as i wont see you for another year! Flights to Oz are now booked. Am going on the 5th November :d cannot wait hehe, sooooooo excited. YEY anyhoo Toodles to you all, hope to see you sooooooon

The life of Charlie:

Well its pretty damn great, was awesome to see hannah these last few days, had lots of fun and was great to have a good convo and spend time with a friend opposed to friends here who speak little to no english.

Weather here is stil great, getting hotter and hotter though. The sea is wonderful, getting a lot more swimming in which is good and i forgot how much i missed swimming.

The brother has returned home today, after being here for a whopping 6 days and making life very difficult for everyone here. It hasnt been pleasant and im not sure id have been able to stay in the house if hannah wasnt here. Lukily she was and i didnt have to kill anyone or do something silly. im glad he is gone, and im also now glad i wont see the little wanker for 18 months. Hopefully by then he will have grownup a lot.

New news:
I have a new set of wheels :) i do however look like a bit of a muppet on it too. i need some kind of independance here so the cheapest option was to get a scooter. So i know have this old black scooter outside the house which i cant drive for another week because this country is so backward it takes ages to sort out new owner registration and insurance. Not happy. also have to register it in mums friends name, as being english it would take months to register it in my name. Again im useless and have no photos, but i am going to take some in the next couple of days and update everyone pictorial styleee,.

also i now have aubergines, my plants have finally decided to speed up their act and catchup to the others and bear fruit. YEY, hopefully i shall be able to eat some home grown veg in the next week Wooooohooo

anyhoo im now knackerd so im going to go to sleep, will update this thing more later on,
toodles for now

ive gone from having the internet (broadband not this pants dial up shit) every day to having it everysooften, its rather bizzzare and lj is very very hard to keep on top of.

so yeah apologies in advance for delays in replys to comments, crap updating and well just being crap.

so.....what has charlie been up to?!
well..... i joined the rowing club, i thought it would be something fun to do and all, but no its not a club for people to enjouy rowing its a club for people who need to EXCEL in it. haha (i know you are all laughing at the prospect of me doing this but wait)
i am actually enjoying it lots, currently killing me, as they are alll fond of the long runs, and me being the weirdo i am i cant run far cause i literally cant breathe it is slowly killing me. but hopefully my body will realise soon enough its got to soldier through and all should be well. bonus of this however is i should lose plenty of weight in the process and become the old cocky little arsehole i used to be with no problems with anything at all. SCORE! hahahaha but yeah if you dont hear from me in a while then i have fallen off a cliff, drowned or my heart packed in with the running. not sure i have brought enough inhalers. oopsie.

so besides the rowing club and the keep fit thing im hoping to keep up, i have been trying to learn more and more italian, it is now getting very confusing, i know lots of words but getting very confused with verbs and what not, hopefully this will get easier, but languages have never been my strong point but i remain still optimistic. i can get by at least anyway which is good.
the weather here is ace, very very hot though. nice and sunny and going to the beach for a swim is most ace despite the mass amount of holidaying tourists that crowd 'some' of the beaches.
I have also experienced more of the local nightlife. i was invited out on saturday night by a friend of some of mums friend who is nearish my age, anyhoo went to a bbq at one of his friends houses where there were 12 people, no one who understood a great deal of english and lots of fish and wine. first thing someone said to me was 'timido, timido?!' which as you may guess means timid/shy, which is not me in the slightest i just had no idea what they were satying. anyhoo as the night progressed, good food was eaten and i got talking and could understand a fair bit and tried to make sense of myself, so it was all working quite well. we didnt leave the house till half one when everyone was quite wasted and then some people drove to the town where we went to what i thought was a club, turns out it was just a bar where the music just stopped with no warning at 2:30, i found the upset italians quite amusing but carried on to drink my drink and observe, apparently where we were wasnt a club at all just a bar, we were then to go to the club after. EEEK. s yeah we then went to the club called paradise, i think its the only one though in Bosa. this didnt close till half 6am, which i was driven home by my friend stumbled down hte drive to find i couldnt find the key my mother hid for me in the garden, she got a right good laugh out of a drunken me stumbling all over the place trying to find the key so stood there and laughed for a bit apparently. hehe its all good, fab night was had though despite the fact its not my normal scene and the music isnt my cup of tea. so its all good. things are going well and im not sick of my parents just yet so hopefully things should be good. will update soon. apologies if this makes no sense i an trying to do a few things at once, and not very good at multitasking right now. hehe

hope all is well with everyone anyhoo, Happy belated birthday to CHarlie. and a Happy birthday coming up to Nick (thank god for facebook for reminders haha) and to anyone else i have forgotten) cant wait to see some of you soon :)

Toodles for now,
Charlie xxxx

p.s oh yeah i have a new phone number so if anyone wants to text me or get in touch that way either email me or call/text me on

helloooo to you all my pretties! :)

i have now been here a week, and just enjoying it over here, it has been a bit windy today but other than that the week has been ace weather wise (just to piss you all off as i know you have had a lot of rain! :P )

for those of you who i havent bored already with this knowledge i shall let you know. last time i was over here a couple of months ago, i started my garden up. i planted some tomato, aubergine and pepper plants. and set the ground up for some other things. anyhoo when i got here, my mother *under strict instructions* had done her job well and kept them well watered and they have now grown a fair bit and look really well. i already have 5 tomatos which are growing really big and the peppers and aubergines are flowering nicely and should give a good crop. i have since planted some fennell and plan to get the ground ready for next year, as unfortunately its a bit late to plant anything else. the last few days me and dad have been working on a watering system for all mine and his plants, as the garden is rather large and spaced out and some bits are on steep hills (hard to explain, will post pics later) the watering system is now in place, using many pipes and will now water all the plants well at night automatically so we dont have to spend at least an hour a day watering everything. today has been a sucess :D

As far as the cantina goes, the walls have now been put in and the moulds for the arches have been put in place and bricked around, tomorrows job is to plan out where all the electrics are going and where the sink and loo and shower goes in the wetroom *aka bathroom minus bath* i was hoping to have everything plastered by mid august, but italians work very very slowly, and dont work in august at all, so its looking unliklely to get electrics and plumbing done by then, but one will live in hope. Besides i have a big outdoor permanent bbq to build in the mean time which should be done in the next few weeks, as i have many people to cater for this summer. very much looking forward to this as i like cooking for lots of people, and it also means i get to try roasting the local maialetto (suckling pig) as i havent tried that one yet.

I have found out there is a rowing club near the village i currently live in, i am joining this and going rowing on friday for the first time, i really want to try something that i can do a bit more constantly, and luckily they are ok with total spackers like myself who isnt used to rowing in time with everyone else *as those i went rafting with found out hehe* also the bonus of this is that the river in Bosa will be slightly warmer than the trent was the other week.

anyhoo must get back to my country bumpkin lifestyle at the mo, by sitting with a reallly good book (i really miss reading lots, is good to get back into it)
toodles all, will update soonish,

Kick ass week has just gone by with only minimal amounts of stress involved. Am now back in Saddleworth, attempting to fit all my stuff in my old bedroom. I also remember why i love this place when there is no one else around. Very quiet and no one to bother you, lots of good walks around, downfall is that i have to shift much stuff before i can get to my Amp and speakers, so having to put up with the shitty teeney ones attatched to dad's PC (now plugged into mine)
FMR was most excellent with a few faces who dont turn up usually, Andy P, Tony, Nick and Mike more specifically :P you know you all loved it!!!! really good night out.
Bowling on saturday was also most fun, i didnt win but then again i didnt come last which is all that matters hehe.

cooking a meal for the Poppa and Gran and Grandad tomorrow night, should be interesting to say the least. must remember to remind poppa in teh morning, as he has no doubt forgotten already. not sure what to cook though as Grandad is reeeeally fussy and likes all his meat really well cooked, which is the opposite to how i would cook it (the more bloody the better :D )oh well im sure ill think of something

BBQ [11 Jun 2007|11:28am]
Its now monday, and i feel really rather amazing, after having one of the best weekends, and knowing i have 2 more days at work, and im leaving in 8 days, it feels damn good.

the weeked was:
Friday - climbing after work (much fun) followed by a few beverages (old rosie) in spoons, after getting id'ed i had to send someone younger than me (irritating) to go fetch me a pint. Lots of fun had, i apparently yelled at some chavs who called me a mosher for wearing a band tee.

Saturday - epic trip to Asda with Mark Linda and Reena where far too much money was spent but we did get some rather good stuff, the rest of the day was spent BBqing, making quiche, riding the CHAIR OF DEATH (tm), eating far too many sweets (cheers anthony)chatting about many things, drinking many of the weird vodka drinks andy kept making me, being told im one of the more dangerous kind of people should i turn out to be a psychopath (?!?!?!?!?!) and many more amusing things.

Mad props (as my bro would say) to Reena, Danni and Andy for letting me use their house for such fun and frolics as the best day was had. Im really going to miss all of you lot who were there, (even though a few of you are going (yes this is an order) to come visit me!!!!

Sunday: My father is back in the country fr the weekend so he came down to help me shift some of my belongings back to the mother ship. he turned up at 12, which left me rushing back home from Reenas that morning, We then went for a walk in bradgate park which was ace, as we saw the war memorial and the tower and the ruins. Was a nice day if not a bit cloudy for a walk, had some most amazing home made ice cream there too. Dad took me out for a meal that evening to, to this ace resteraunt in Quorn where a rather delicious meal was had.

has anyone ever heard of the fish - artic char?
i had it with asparagus risotto (very nice meal indeed) but have never heard of the name of the fish before, so thought i would give it a whirl. i did think it could ahve been a typo and meant 'arctic' char but im not sure. any fish experts on here?!

My room is now a state, as there is lots of dust, not much stuff and bits of paper and stuff everywhere, i have no speakers or anything either for a week :( i do have a good book though and lots of things to do till then hehe.

YEY for it all woohooo
